Beginning on Wednesday, October 14, all Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) will be undergoing required system upgrades and maintenance over the next several weeks. As a result, TVMs will only accept cash for transit fare payment – no credit or debit cards will be accepted. As maintenance is completed, TVMs will transition back to accepting card payments.
Riders wanting to purchase transit fares with a credit or debit card are encouraged to download CharmPass, MDOT MTA’s mobile transit fare payment option. Riders can quickly and easily set up an account, purchase fares, and activate fares when ready to travel on Local Bus, Light Rail, or Metro Subway. As a reminder, riders using CharmPass can also transfer free when travelling within a span of 90 minutes. Riders may also purchase transit fares with a debit or credit card at the Transit Store, 6 St. Paul Street, Baltimore.
