Due to the ongoing COVID-19 health emergency, the MARC Train and Commuter Bus fare increase scheduled to be implemented by June 30, 2020 will be delayed in accordance with Governor Hogan’s emergency order for extending time requirements. This delay will remain in effect until 30 days after the state of emergency has ended, helping Marylanders who rely on transit for jobs, health care and other needs, and who have been impacted economically by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Transportation Infrastructure Investment Act of 2013 requires the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) to increase fares for MARC Train and Commuter Bus service every five years. The last rate change for MARC and Commuter Bus was implemented on June 25, 2015.
