MARC Train will operate the R schedule on all three lines on today Friday, November 10, 2023 on Veterans Day-Observed. Only trains with an R under the train number in the Camden and Penn Line timetables and in the R schedule grid on the right side of the Brunswick Line timetable will operate. Some Penn and Camden line trains make additional stops on the R schedule, as noted with an R in the timetable grid.
For Penn Line passengers, in addition to the R schedule, Trains 453 and 452 (9:35pm departure from Penn Station and 10:55pm departure from Union Station) will operate.
Brunswick Line passengers should note that this is the R schedule, not the Enhanced R (R+) schedule, which means that Trains 872 and 877 will NOT operate and Train 875 will terminate in Brunswick. Due to the US Highway 340 construction/closure and detour, there **will not** be EPTA connecting bus service from Brunswick to West Virginia for Train 875, passengers traveling to West Virginia will need to use Train 881.
On Saturday, November 11, MARC Train and the entire MTA are recognizing Veterans Day by offering free transit rides for all U.S. military veterans, active-duty military and members of the National Guard and Reserves. This is the fifth consecutive year MDOT MTA has provided free transit across the agency's fixed-route services to honor our nation's military personnel. MARC Penn Line weekend service will operate on the regular Saturday schedule.
Free transit rides will be available on MDOT MTA Local Bus, Metro SubwayLink, Light RailLink, MARC Train and Commuter Bus on Saturday. To qualify for a free ride, active and retired military members will need to show an ID under one of three classifications: U.S. Department of Defense issued ID (Armed Forces/Uniformed Services/Military Retiree); U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs issued ID; or Maryland MVA Veteran designation on a driver's license or state ID.
