Description:

To All MARC Riders:

CSX Transportation has notified MDOT MTA that the potential strike by CSX labor unions in response to the ongoing labor dispute will not occur on Friday, September 16. MARC Camden, Brunswick and Penn Line trains will operate regularly scheduled service tomorrow.

Due to significant freight train congestion caused by the potential work stoppage, passengers should expect delays and possible train cancellations for several weeks on the Camden Line. In order to provide alternatives for Camden Line passengers, effective through September 30:

-- MTA Commuter Bus routes 305, 315, 335 and 345 will honor all MARC tickets and

-- passengers can park for free at the BWI Rail Station garage where they can take the Penn Line.

In order to receive free parking at BWI, passengers must follow these procedures:

--Enter and exit the facility through Garage 1 ONLY, do not use Garage 2. If you park in Garage 2, you will have to pay to exit.

--Collect the parking ticket when you enter and be sure to save it.

--When exiting through Garage 1, you must go to the cashier, you cannot use one of the automated gates.

--Present your parking ticket and show the attendant your Camden Line one-way, weekly, or monthly ticket.

MARC Train thanks LAZ Parking, the BWI Rail Station garage contractor, for their assistance in this matter.

A list of additional alternative transit options for Camden Line passengers with links to schedules can be found at www.mta.maryland.gov/marc-csx-strike-options . WMATA buses always honor MARC weekly and monthly passes and Camden Line tickets are always cross-honored on the Penn Line.

MARC Train will continue to post updates through the service alert system and on social media. Thank you for riding MARC Train.
