It’s our inaugural MTA RIDE & SEEK Scavenger Hunt!
Using the Eventzee mobile app, participants follow clues connected to local landmarks, events, and destinations that can be reached by MTA Local Bus, Light Rail, or Metro Subway. Each clue leads to a nearby transit stop, where participants scan a QR code to earn points, move up the leaderboard, and compete for prizes.

Winners will be announced within 5 business days of the end of the event.
Gameplay Details
Eventzee is a free app and the central hub for the scavenger hunt, giving participants access to clues and event information in one place.
Clues are unlocked and completed through the app, making it the only way to earn points. Scan QR codes along the way and track your progress as you explore.

Before You Begin
Set up your profile and follow the steps to complete challenges and earn points.
Note: Leaderboard Names Are Public. Choose a family-friendly username or team name, as it may be displayed to all participants during the event.

Find Your Challenges
All clues will be located in the Challenges tab within the Eventzee app. Tap each individual challenge to view the clue details and instructions.

How to Find (QR Codes)
You can find a yellow decal on MTA bus stop signs that match the clues in the app. QR codes must be scanned within the Eventzee app.

Leaderboard
Visit the Social tab to see your score, track your progress, and compare your ranking with other participants.

Play at Your Own Pace (3-Day Window)
The scavenger hunt is designed to be flexible and fun. You can participate at your own pace over the course of the 3-day event window, during regular service hours on Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11. Game ends at 1pm on Sunday, July 12. Take your time, explore, and enjoy the experience as it fits into your schedule.

Transit Options & QR Code Locations
You may use Local Bus, Light Rail, or Metro Subway to travel throughout the game. Please note that QR code decals will only be placed at designated bus stop locations near Light Rail and Metro Subway stations. Plan your route accordingly as you explore.

CharmFlex Pass & CharmPass App
Your CharmFlex 3-day pass will be available in the account you set up on the CharmPass app. Please load the app and use your pass to board MTA buses, light rail or metro subway each day while participating. The MTA CharmFlex day pass allows you to take unlimited rides to as many stops as you want all day long. July 8th is the final day to claim your complimentary CharmFlex 3-day pass.

Plan Your Route Ahead
We recommend planning your route in advance to make the most of your experience. Use the Transit App to check arrival times and help map your journey. If you do not sign up by July 8th, then you will not receive a complimentary pass and will have to pay the fare.

Follow All MTA Rules & Respect Transit Spaces
All MTA rules and regulations apply while participating in the scavenger hunt. Please respect MTA property, vehicles, and staff at all times. For more information, refer to the MTA Riders Code of Conduct.

Keep Our Spaces Clean
Help keep transit areas clean by properly disposing of all trash. Do not litter at stops, on vehicles, or in surrounding areas during gameplay. Leave each location as you found it for others to enjoy.

Play with Safety in Mind
Stay aware of your surroundings at all times while participating. Be mindful of traffic, transit activity, and other pedestrians. Always prioritize safe decisions while engaging with the experience.

Support Hours & Assistance
If you need help during gameplay, our support team is available from 7am–6pm on Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11, as well as 7am – 1pm on Sunday, July 12 via the Eventzee app or email. Reach out during these hours for assistance with the app, access codes, or general questions. Messages sent outside of these hours will be responded to the next calendar day.
Technical support is provided through the Eventzee app by Eventzee staff. For scavenger hunt event-related questions, MTA staff are available from 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. on July 10–11 and 7:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. on July 12. Messages received outside of these hours will be answered the next calendar day.
Who Can Participate?
Sign up is open to anyone who is at least 18 years old. Anyone under 18 will need to participate alongside an eligible adult. Everyone is encouraged to participate.
To track your progress and earn points, you must download the Eventzee mobile app. To help navigate MTA services during the event, we recommend using CharmPass.
Participants may receive a complimentary CharmFlex 3-Pack by completing the sign up form by Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Yes, participation is free! Participants can receive a complimentary CharmFlex 3-Pack (3 1-day passes) to use MTA services during the scavenger hunt by signing up in advance. When you sign-up on the event website, indicate that you would like a free CharmFlex 3-Pack and provide the email address you plan to use with the CharmPass mobile app. Complimentary passes will be issued to eligible participants who complete the sign‑up by Wednesday, July 8.
The MTA CharmFlex Day Pass gives you 3 separate day passes. When you activate one, you get unlimited rides on Local Bus, Light Rail, and Metro Subway services until 3:00 AM the next morning. You can ride as often as you want and make unlimited stops with no additional fare.
MTA’s Ride & Seek event will showcase how extensive and accessible the MTA system in getting people where they want to go. We also want to provide a fun and engaging way to help new riders get comfortable using transit, encourage people to explore different parts of the Baltimore region.
Yes. A smartphone is required to access the game via Eventzee app.
QR codes are placed on clearly visible physical decals at participating MTA transit stops. An example of what the decals look like is shown below. Use the Eventzee mobile app to scan the QR code and earn points.
Locations within MTA Ride and Seek are accessible via MTA local buses, Light Rail, or Metro Subway. You may use the MTA trip planner or your preferred trip‑planning platform to determine the best way to travel to each clue location. Yes! Families are welcome to join the fun and explore together.
Each participant who wants to earn points and appear on the leaderboard should use their own Eventzee account.
Families are welcome to travel together and solve clues as a team. This allows families to enjoy the experience together while maintaining individual scoring and prize eligibility.
Participants earn points by completing challenges listed in the Eventzee mobile app. Each challenge is tied to a specific clue and transit stop. To earn points, participants must travel to the associated MTA transit stop and scan the physical QR code decal using the Eventzee app. Points are awarded automatically once each challenge is successfully completed.
Points are earned by visiting each location. The top 5 participants with the most points will receive prizes.
Employees, contractors, and affiliates of the Maryland Transit Administration may participate in the Event but are not eligible to receive prizes.
