College Park Metro StationMaryland Transit Administration, in partnership with the Federal Transit Administration through the All Stations Accessibility Program (ASAP), is conducting a $1.7 million design phase project to reach 30% Design on how to make the MARC College Park station on the Camden Line fully accessible.

Project Description

The MARC College Park Accessible Station Project will complete preliminary (30%) design plans and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation for a fully accessible College Park Station on the Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) Train’s Camden Line.

The proposed improvements would build new low-level platforms on the northbound and southbound sides as well as new safety protections in and around the station. These improvements will allow users of all abilities to more easily board and depart from MARC trains. The project will improve access to existing Metro tunnels and allow for the removal of the at-grade crossing to discourage passengers from crossing active train tracks. This project will also improve existing signal and communications systems, station amenities, and minor adjustments to the College Park Metro Station Kiss-and-Ride. Sustainable improvement elements will be incorporated into the project where appropriate.

Project Timeline

MTA completed concept plans for a fully accessible MARC College Park station in Summer 2026. MTA will conduct one round of public engagement in Fall 2026 to collect feedback, which will be incorporated into 30% Design documents. This project is only funded through 30% Design.
