MARYLAND TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION CONTINUES HOLIDAY TRADITION WITH ANNUAL TOYS FOR TOTS DRIVES

PRESS RELEASE:

MARC Train Launches Seasonal Donation Effort to Support Local Families

BALTIMORE, MD (December 2, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration is proud to continue its partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots program for the 31st consecutive year. MARC Train will be participating in two events: the annual toy collection drive with the U.S. Marines at Washington Union Station on Wednesday, December 3, and Thursday, December 4, and a holiday toy drive on Saturday, December 6 at the MARC Station in Brunswick, Fredrick County.

"Public transit is about connecting and supporting communities,” said Director of MARC Train Josh Wolf. “Our participation in these toy drives is an opportunity to give back to the regions we serve.”

Since 1994, generous riders have contributed to the collection and distribution of toys during the holiday season at Washington Union Station. Continuing that tradition, the agency is inviting riders to help bring joy to children in need this holiday season by donating new, unwrapped toys as they board or exit their MARC Train at Washington Union Station. Volunteers from MARC Train will be outside Gates A and B from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on December 3 and 4.

For the third year, MARC Train has partnered with the City of Brunswick for a toy collection during the city’s annual Hometown Holidays event. The event on Saturday, December 6, includes Santa train rides, a festive parade, and culminates with tree lighting. Attendees may drop off toys between 12 pm and 5 pm at the Brunswick MARC station. All toys collected will benefit Frederick County Toys for Tots. More information on the Hometown Holidays is available at www.brunswickmd.gov/specialevents.

For those unable to donate in-person, there is also the option to donate at local area toy drop-off centers listed on the Toys for Tots website or donate online through the Virtual Toybox at toysfortots.org.
