Commuter Bus provider Martz Gold Line (Columbia / Silver Spring and southern Maryland) has been in ongoing negotiations with their operator union. This morning, that union went on strike resulting in morning trips being cancelled on six routes. MTA is not party to these negotiations and our contractual relationship is with Martz Gold Line.

The following routes are impacted by the labor action:

  • Route 305, 315, and 325 – Columbia/Silver Spring to DC
  • Route 630 – La Plata / Waldorf to DC
  • Route 640 – Waldorf / Accokeek to DC
  • Route 735 – Charlotte Hall / Waldorf to DC

MARC Train is honoring all Commuter Bus monthly pass, 10 trip or CharmPass tickets.  Details on alternative MARC stations are listed below.  The Camden Line and Penn Line schedules are available here on our website.  All MARC stations have available free parking; links below lead to Google Maps locations.

Routes 305, 315, and 325

Columbia-area stops and Broken Land Parkway - Savage Camden Line station (Route 32 @ Dorsey Run Road) or Odenton Penn Line station (Route 32 to Route 175 east).  Note that the Google link for Odenton leads to the overflot lot, which has the most available parking (the other lots are usually full by 7:00am).

Scaggsville and Burtonsville P&R - Laurel Camden Line station (Main Street, downtown Laurel - additional free parking available at the American Legion), Muirkirk Camden Line station (Muirkirk Road, near the intersection with US 1), or Bowie State University Penn Line Station (Route 197 @ Jehrico Park Road)

There is no direct MARC Train service available for Southern Maryland Commuter Bus customers.  The closest MARC station with free parking is Seabrook Penn Line station.  Washington Metrorail stations at New Carrollton, Downtown Largo, and Branch Avenue are also available, but WMATA parking fees and Metro fares apply.
