Effective Monday, September 28, 2026, MARC is launching a direct weekday round-trip connection between the Brunswick Line and Camden Line, allowing commuters to travel directly between Montgomery County and Baltimore’s Camden Station without transferring at Washington Union Station.

Key Service Highlights

  • Direct Route: Connects Brunswick, Point of Rocks, Barnesville, Germantown, Metropolitan Grove, Gaithersburg, Rockville, Kensington, Silver Spring, College Park, Laurel, and Baltimore.
  • Regional Expansion: Creates a direct transit link between Montgomery County and Baltimore, as well as between Frederick and Prince George's Counties.

Brunswick and Camden Line schedule changes

To accommodate this new service, there are changes to several Brunswick and Camden Line trains.  You can download a copy of the new timetables below:

Brunswick Line morning service:

  • Unchanged: Trains 870, 890, 872, 894, and 880.
  • New train number: Train 830
    • Departing Brunswick at 6:00am and making select stops to Silver Spring.
    • Connecting Shuttle: Frederick Transit provides a Meet the MARC shuttle bus to Train 830 at Point of Rocks.
    • Modified Route: Bypasses Washington Union Station, operating directly from Silver Spring to College Park, Laurel, and Baltimore Camden Station.
    • Alternative Options for Washington Union Station Commuters: Transfer to WMATA Metro Rail Red Line or Train 874 at Rockville or Silver Spring, or the Green Line at College Park.
  • Train 874: Now departs Martinsburg at 5:40am (15 minutes later) and adds stops at Boyds and Garrett Park
  • Train 892: Now departs Frederick at 6:22am (17 minutes later) and adds a stop at Washington Grove.
  • Train 878: Now departs Martinsburg at 6:15 a.m. (10 minutes earlier).

Changes to Brunswick Line afternoon service:

  • Unchanged: Trains 873, 891, 875, 881, 895, 883 and the Friday-only Train 871.
  • New train number: Train 831
    • Modified Route: Bypasses Washington Union Station, operating directly from Baltimore Camden Station to Laurel, College Park and Silver Spring.
    • Connecting Shuttle: Frederick Transit provides a Meet the MARC shuttle bus at Point of Rocks.
    • Alternative Options for Washington Union Station Commuters: Ride Train 879 or 881 or take WMATA Metrorail Red Line to transfer to Train 831 at Silver Spring or Green Line at College Park.
  • Train 893: Now departs at 4:55pm (25 minutes earlier), adding a stop at Washington Grove.
  • Train 879: Now departs at 5:20pm (20 minutes earlier).

Camden Line morning service from Baltimore Camden Station to Washington Union Station

  • No changes

Camden Line afternoon service from Washington Union Station to Baltimore Camden Station

  • No changes

Camden Line Changes to morning service from Washington Union Station to Baltimore Camden Station:

  • Unchanged: Train 840 and 846.
  • New Train: 830 (replaces Train 842):
    • Modified Route: Bypasses Washington Union Station, operating from Silver Spring to College Park, Laurel and Camden Yards.
    • Alternative Options for Washington Union Station Commuters: Ride Train 840, 844, or 846 or use Washington Metrorail to transfer to WMATA Metro Rail Red Line at Silver Spring, or the Green Line at College Park
  • Train 844: Now departs at 7:15am (25 minutes earlier).

Camden Line Changes to afternoon service from Baltimore Camden Station to Washington Union Station:

  • Unchanged: Trains 853, 857, and 859.
  • New train number: Train 831
    • Modified Route: Bypasses Washington Union Station, operating directly from Baltimore Camden Station to Laurel, College Park and Silver Spring then west along the Brunswick Line.
    • Alternative Options for Washington Union Station Commuters: Ride Train 853, 855 or 857 to transfer to WMATA Metrorail Green Line (College Park) or Red Line (Silver Spring).
  • Train 855: The 4:45 p.m. departure from Dorsey no longer stops at Savage to improve on-time performance; use Trains 853 or 857 instead.
