Here is important information for passeners traveing to the Washington Nationals World Series Parade on Saturday, November 2:

Weekend service train capacity and number of trains is significantly less than weekday service.  MARC Train will do everything within our ability to accommodate as many passengers as possible who wish to participate in the National’s World Series celebrations. MARC Train Penn Line weekend service is scheduled for three scheduled southbound trains to Washington prior to the beginning of the parade and five trains departing Washington after the parade is completed (download the timetable here).

Unlike past weekend events planned in advance, MARC Train may not be able to operate enough additional capacity to accommodate the increased demand due to the extremely short notice of this event, and the unpredictable number of riders planning to attend. Parking lots, platforms, and trains are likely to be crowded. We advise all passengers to arrive to the station ahead of the train’s scheduled departure.

Boarding will be stopped on trains when they reach a safe capacity. MARC Train does not have pre-reserved seating or ticketing for specific trains. Allow extra time to get to your destination.

We strongly discourage large bags or other objects, including coolers and bikes. MARC Train cannot guarantee that bikes will be able to be accommodated if a train is nearing passenger capacity and crowded conditions exist. Bike accommodations will be at the discretion of train crew and in consideration of the safety of all passengers. We regret any inconvenience. Bike share and rental services are available near Washington Union Station.

Amtrak, MARC Train staff and law enforcement will be on hand to assist passengers, provide information, and ensure crowd management. When boarding the train, please move inside and either upstairs or downstairs to the center of the car. This will ensure that there is enough space for standees. Passengers may not stand in the area between the railcars, this is not permitted anytime a train is in motion for your safety.

When you return to Union Station after the parade:

  • Trains begin boarding 15-20 minutes prior to departure.
  • Remain inside the station at the designated boarding gate until your train is announced.
  • Please follow directions from Amtrak and MARC staff at Union Station.
  • Boarding will include a passenger count to ensure that trains do not exceed a safe capacity. •
