1. Check Your Eligibility

Review the requirements below to see if you qualify for a reduced fare through the app.

Seniors (Ages 65+) and Riders with Disabilities

  • Benefit: Reduced fare on Local Bus, Commuter Bus, Light Rail, Metro Subway and MARC train.
  • What You Need: A valid government-issued photo ID showing your date of birth (e.g., Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport), MTA Disability card; or a disability card from another transit agency AND a government issued photo ID.

MARC Student Saver

  • Benefit: 50% off MARC train fares (Penn, Camden, and Brunswick lines).
  • Who Qualifies: Students actively enrolled in an eligible high school, trade/vocational school, technical program, college, or university.
  • What You Need: A current Student ID or official proof of enrollment for the current semester.

2. How to Apply

Follow these three steps to activate your discount:

  • Download CharmPass: Install the app on your iOS or Android device and create an account.
  • Submit the Form: Fill out the application below. Important: You must use the same email address associated with your CharmPass account.
  • MTA Outreach: To protect your personal data, this form does not require you to upload any documents or IDs. Instead, an MTA representative will contact you within 2-3 business days to securely obtain and verify your documentation.
  • Activation: After verification, you will receive a confirmation email, and your reduced-fare options will automatically appear in your CharmPass account.
