Help MDOT MTA Spread Holiday Cheer with Donations to the Annual Toys for Tots Drive

On-Site Toy Collection Resumes at Washington Union Station

BALTIMORE, MD (December 13, 2021) – In the season of giving, the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) is proud to continue its 27-year tradition of supporting the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. This year MARC Train, along with Amtrak and Bombardier Transportation Service, are encouraging passengers to participate in a toy collection on Wednesday, December 15, and Thursday, December 16, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Washington Union Station.

“MDOT MTA is thrilled to resume the on-site Toys for Tots collection to Washington Union Station,” said MDOT MTA Administrator Holly Arnold. “Our agency has supported this drive since 1994, and we appreciate the generosity of our riders as we work together to bring joy to those who need it.”

For in-person donations, volunteers from MARC Train, Amtrak, Bombardier and the U.S. Marines will be on hand throughout the day, December 15 and December 16, to collect new, unwrapped toys, or cash and checks as passengers board or exit their MARC Train. The collection will take place outside Gates A and B at Washington Union Station.

Riders also have the option to donate online through the Virtual Toybox at toysfortots.org. At the Virtual Toybox, donors select and pay for specific gifts. Toy donations can also be made at local area toy drop-off centers listed on the Toys for Tots website.
