MDOT MTA Reopens Eastern Bus Division  with Health Officials Clearance

CityLink, LocalLink and Express BusLink to Resume Service Tomorrow

BALTIMORE, MD (March 26, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) will reopen the Eastern Bus Division tomorrow after notification from local and state health officials that MDOT MTA, in accordance with COVID-19 CDC guidelines, could resume operations at the Eastern division.

On March 24, MDOT MTA received notification from a bus operator out of the Eastern division, that the operator had tested positive for COVID-19. That individual had last reported to work on March 19. Upon notification, MDOT MTA immediately notified the Baltimore City Health Department. The Baltimore City Health Department, in consultation with the Maryland Department of Health, conducted an investigation and has notified MDOT MTA that the operator was not at work after their illness onset and that the Eastern division could resume operations.

The previously impacted routes on the CityLink Navy, Orange, Blue, Pink, Lime and Gold, LocalLink 21, 22, 28,36, 56, 59, 62, 63, and 65, and Express BusLink 105, 120, and 160 will resume regularly scheduled service.
