Give Public Transit a Try on World Car Free Day

In celebration of World Car Free Day on Friday, September 22, people will be urged to avoid the traffic and parking hassles by leaving their vehicles at home and riding transit as a fast, inexpensive and efficient way to get to work and other places they need to go.

So, if you've never taken transit – or haven’t done so in a while – now's the perfect time to experience firsthand all the great things transit has to offer.

Since the launch of BaltimoreLink, transit riders now have improved access to jobs, medical facilities, schools, libraries and other transit modes such as MDOT MTA's Light RailLink, Metro SubwayLink and MARC Train services.

Dedicated bus lanes, transit signal priority and improved signage also are making travel on transit a faster, more pleasant and worthwhile experience for our riders. Our goal is always to provide safe, efficient and reliable transit with world-class customer service.

So, let World Car Free Day give you a reason to give MDOT MTA transit services a try. You'll be glad you did!
