Description:

The West Virginia Department of Transportation will be performing a major road rebuilding project on US Highway 340 between Maryland and West Virginia starting on September 12, 2023. Highway 340 will be closed for 90 days between Maryland and West Virginia.

EPTA connecting bus service from Brunswick Line Train 873 to West Virginia will be suspended beginning September 11 until at least December 11. Bus service to West Virginia will remain for Train 883, however, the road closure and resulting 22-mile detour will add 45 minutes to an hour of trip time. This service is subject to cancellation if traffic conditions do not permit the bus to travel to Brunswick to pick up passengers or in the event of winter weather. Passengers should plan ahead in the event of a service cancellation.

For more information on the Route 340 project, visit www.us340harpersferry.com . For questions regarding EPTA Bus service, please contact EPTA at 304-263-0876 or visit www.eptawv.com .

Passengers who travel from the Harpers Ferry station are reminded that the parking lot is part of the National Park Service facility and all users of the lot must purchase park admission. The Park Service has advised MARC Train that failure to pay for and display a valid park pass in your car windshield will result in your car being ticketed and it may be towed. Passes are $20 for three days or $35 for a one year pass. You can get more information and purchase a pass from the National Park Service website: www.recreation.gov/sitepass/2747 . Please direct any questions regarding parking at Harpers Ferry station to the National Park Service.
