Entire Metro SubwayLink to Remain Closed Up to Four Weeks for Emergency Repairs
Following a thorough inspection of the entire Metro SubwayLink system completed over the weekend of February 9, MDOT MTA has determined the entire system will need to remain closed for up to four weeks, through March 11, to ensure the safety of all customers. Shuttle bus bridges to transport riders along the Metro SubwayLink route are being provided. These shuttle buses are in addition to the existing BaltimoreLink bus options at each station provided by CityLink and LocalLink routes. As sections of the Metro SubwayLink are repaired and made available for use, MDOT MTA will evaluate a partial reopening of the system.
There will be two bus bridges in effect while repairs are underway. The local bus shuttle will stop at every Metro SubwayLink station from Owings Mills to Johns Hopkins and run from 5:00am to midnight, Monday to Friday, and from 6:00am to midnight on Saturday and Sunday. The express bus shuttle will serve six stations on the line: Owings Mills, Milford Mill, Mondawmin, State Center, Charles Center, and Johns Hopkins. Express bus shuttles will run from 5:00am to 10:00am and from 3:00pm to 8:00pm Monday to Friday only. Shuttle buses will run on approximately 20 or 30 minute intervals.
Below is a map and details for both bus bridges along with the bus stop locations. Alternative CityLink, LocalLink, Express BusLink, and Light RailLink connections are also shown. Click on the image for a hi-res PDF.
For Metro SubwayLink riders looking to replenish their CharmCard, value can be added on BaltimoreLink buses, the Transit Store at 6 St. Paul St. in Baltimore, at any Light RailLink station, or online after you register your CharmCard.
