New Penn Line Schedule

Effective Monday, March 14, 2011 (pending Board of Public Works approval)
In an effort to reduce overcrowded conditions and improve on-time performance, MARC has made many changes to the Penn Line schedule. MARC has worked closely with Amtrak to develop a schedule that should reduce delays caused by scheduling conflicts.

More Service and Seating
- 2 additional trains during the AM and PM rush hours
- 5 additional frequencies to/from the Martins Airport stop
- 7 additional frequencies to/from BWI Marshall Airport
- approximately 1,000 additional seats during the AM and PM rush hours
More Options during Rush Hour Periods
- Increase frequencies to all stations between Baltimore and Washington
- Reduced headways (time between trains) during rush hours for travel between
Baltimore and Washington - Limited stop train to Odenton during the evening rush hour (see train 436 of new schedule)
There are MANY changes, including train numbers, so make sure to check your current departure and arrival times to get the new train number and times in order to plan your trip accordingly.
MARC management will be on location at stations on the Penn Line during the PM rush hours starting Monday, February 28th through Wednesday, March 9th to answer any questions about the schedule changes.
