 Paper SmartBenefits® Timeline

October 31st: Commuter Bus ‘On Board Sales’ – will no longer accept SmartBenefit paper vouchers after October 31st.

November 21st: Commuter Bus ‘Mail In Orders’ – will no longer accept SmarBenefit paper vouchers after November 21st.

November 21st: Any unused paper vouchers may be used to purchase tickets through the mail until November 21, 2011.

 

Timeline to set up SmartBenefit Account:

1st-15th  Register with employer to accept SmartBenefits.

1st-20th: On WMATAs SmartBenefits website, must allocate benefits to MTA Commuter Bus.

1st-25th: Purchase Commuter Bus tickets on MTAs website www.mta.maryland.gov for the following month’s tickets.

20th - 30th  MTA processes and mails SmartBenefit ticket orders.that SmartBenefit® paper vouchers will no longer be issued to employer’s after June 15, 2011. Employers have begun to give notice to their employees that they will need to get their benefits electronically. MTA Commuter Bus fare products are currently not offered through any points of sale that allow for electronic benefits. To assist customers with this issue, MTA’s website capability is being upgraded to accept SmartBenefits®.
