Getting to the Baltimore Grand Prix venue could be a challenge. You can avoid long lines of traffic and an agonizing search for a downtown parking space by taking MTA Local Bus, Light Rail or Metro Subway to every Grand Prix race and all the attractions of the Festival of Speed. The MTA has a long and successful history of providing safe, economical and comfortable service to major sports and entertainment events in Baltimore. You can trust the MTA to get you to the starting line and back home worry-free.

MTA Grand Prix Diversion Plan

General Info

  • MTA Metro subway service will not be affected.
  • Transit Information Services Center open September 3rd-5th (410-539-5000).
  • MTA Transit Team reports September 3rd-4th.
  • Customer Service transit ambassadors at key locations throughout the system.

MTA Grand Prix Diversion Plan for Local Bus

  • MTA local bus diversions begin 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 31st.
  • Affected routes include:1, 3, 3x, 5, 7, 10, 11, 14, 17, 19, 20, 23, 27, 30, 35, 40, 46, 61, 64, 120, and 160.
  • Eight routes will be divided: 1, 10, 20, 23, 30, 35, 40, and 46.
  • Free MTA Connector buses will link divided routes.
  • No charge for divided routes.
  • Affected commuter bus routes: 410, 411, 420, and 320.
  • Local/commuter bus service returns to normal Tuesday, September 6th at 6:00a.m.

 

MTA Grand Prix Diversion Plan for Light Rail:

  • Light Rail service modifications begin Thursday, September 1st.

    September 1st-4th Operating Hours 6am-11pm Schedules 

    Schedule for September 5th-Light Rail operate our regular holiday schedule on Labor Day, Monday, September 5 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Starting at 7:30 pm, Light Rail will operate on a limited schedule from Timonium Fairgrounds every 30 minutes. The last train will depart Timonium at 11:00 pm northbound and southbound. 
  • Northbound Light Rail service from Cromwell /BWI Airport will terminate at Hamburg Street stop.
  • Southbound Light Rail service from Hunt Valley will terminate at Baltimore Street stop.
  • Shuttle buses will operate between Hamburg and Baltimore Street Light Rail stops.
  • Limited northbound Light Rail service from Cromwell/BWI Airport for Thursday, September 1st Orioles game.

MTA Grand Prix Diversion Plan for Metro Subway:

  • MTA Metro subway service will not be affected.
     

MTA Grand Prix Diversion Plan for Mobility:

  • Due to the expected overflow of traffic and road closures, mobility customers are adivsed to plan ahead and expect significant delays during the Baltimore Grand Prix.
